FTA Portal Empowers Exporters

The Free Trade Agreement Portal is an Australian Government initiative to help business to seize export opportunities China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Chile and United States.
 
The FTA Portal enables goods exporters and importers, especially time-poor small and medium enterprises, to explore the benefits of the agreements quickly and easily. 
 
Developed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Data61, the CSIRO’s data innovation group, the Portal uses smart information technology to deliver product specific FTA information in an easy to understand and user friendly way.
 

Features include:-

  • a search engine customised for trade terms that allows common language searching for products;
  • clear and simple presentation of relevant tariff outcomes, including graphs and tables;
  • step-by-step guidance on the requirements for products to qualify for preferential access and the certification steps;
  • Australian and international trade data aligned to product searches, to help gauge competition in the target import market;
  • fully mobile responsive and web accessible design scalable to other FTAs in the future; and
  • integrated help functions, aimed at first-time and inexperienced users.

 The FTAPortal lets you :-

  1. Search for your product and obtain the product code (HS Code) relating to a specific agreement
  2. Obtain accurate information about the tariff under an FTA
  3. Be guided on your eligibility for a specific FTA (Rules of Origin)
  4. Find out how to obtain certification through an authorised certifying body or how to self-certify.
 
 
The Portal also provides:-
  • Import market data relating to your product
  • First time exporter/importer information to get started
  • General information relating to each of the agreements
  • Contact information
  • Services and investment information
  • Video case studies
  • Developer Application Programming Interface (API) for using the FTA data displayed on the site.
