The Academy will be led by Chef Daniel Garcia Peinado and a group of scientists, doctors,
chefs, dieticians and olive oil experts worldwide.
"We need to globally extend the benefits of cooking with extra virgin
olive oil, to make known our EVOO’s with gastronomic and scientific
support and not remain as mere anecdote, dressing fresh salads" said
Garcia Peinado, known as EVOO Chef.
"Let's invite the best EVOO
Producers from Spain to join the Board of the Academy, who will be our Ambassadors with the collaboration
of the best young Chefs of the world."
The Academy will have a Governing Board and a Board of Trustees Advisory
Committee formed by olive oil producers, scientists, chefs, food gastronomists, dietitians and nutritionists, specializing in EVOO internationally.
"Our purpose is to invite the best chef and seconds chefs, cooking school directors, restaurant owners and gastronomist journalists from around
the world to be trained in Mediterranean, Spanish and Fusion cuisine
with EVOO as a daily basis for cooking”.
The Board of Trustees will focus on research about the scientifically proven health effects of EVOO, in an international context, "the best showcase
for our Spanish EVOO is if we introduce them to the international level,"
said Garcia Peinado, EVOO Chef. "It will not be the same if chefs and scientists from other countries support our EVOO as the best for cooking
at home and at restaurants, if our own chefs do not support it."
The EVOO International Academy of Cooking will be officially launched in September at the Costa del Sol, Malaga where it will be based.
According to the Malaga`s EVOO Chef " Malaga-Costa del Sol, is now
without doubt the best place in Spain to locate the headquarters of the
Academy, where it exists alongside a great gastronomic tradition and an important
olive oil growing global footprint."
