Description
NSW Department of Primary Industries operates an Oil Testing Service based at Wagga Wagga NSW, offering a comprehensive service for the analysis of olive oil for growers, processors, producers, marketers and retailers.

The chemical testing Laboratory and organoleptic (sensory) panel is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and the International Olive Council (IOC).

The laboratory also provides all testing required in determining if olive oil meets the Australian Standard AS5264-2011.

NSW Department of Primary Industries operates an Olive Oil Testing Service based in Wagga Wagga NSW, offers a comprehensive service for the analysis of olive oil for growers, processors, producers, marketers and retailers.

The facility includes the Australian Oil Research Laboratory which provides analysis of olive oil quality and authenticity, and, the Australian Olive Oil Sensory Panel which offers an organoleptic assessment of olive oil.

The AORL has a leading reputation for applied research activities with olive production in Australia, and, conducts compressive surveys of oil offered for sale in supermarkets and labelled as EVOO.

The service is based on the latest technology and requirements of the International Olive Council (IOC).

The laboratory also provides all testing required in determining if olive oil meets the Australian Standard AS5264-2011.

The chemical testing Laboratory and organoleptic (sensory) panel is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and the International Olive Council (IOC).

The facility also participates in proficiency tests conducted by international organisations such as the IOC and the American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS) and the German Society for Fat Science (DGF).
