Whilst working for many years in retail with Roberto Aforti, a Florentine Merchant, the Ahern family were introduced to the joys of extra virgin olive oil. Inspired by this, we now grow and process olive oil in Frankland River, 360km south of Perth, in the beautiful Great Southern region of Western Australia.
Cooladerra Farm Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is a 'Tuscan Style' olive oil, a balanced blend of four Tuscan varieties of olives, the Frantoio, Leccino, Pendalino and Nevadillo.
Our oil is categorized as mild to medium with regards to the degree of bitterness and its pungency. It has a smooth rich texture, a fruity aroma and an herbaceous grassy flavour with a peppery after taste that lingers on the palate.
