Beetaloo Grove started as a 218 acre block of native bushland, and of that 3 acres are planted in olives and fruit trees.

The first plantings were in 1976 and there are currently over 600 trees of many varieties, including a number of trees grown from cuttings from the first trees to come to Australia.

In 1986, 200 acres were heritage-listed to protect them from development and preserve the area for future generations. The property stands today as a prime example of Southern Flinders Ranges natural bushland.
